On Monday, KAB board members Louise Radanovich and Reba Cofield worked to begin a beautification project at the intersection of Hwy. 431 and East Main Street.  This area by CVS Pharmacy has been discussed for quite some time among KAB board members and volunteers, and this will be a much needed facelift for this major intersection in our city.

The ladies braved the fierce cold weather and began by cleaning up the area.  They then amended and fertilized the soil, staked off areas where future plants will be, and dug holes and trenches for the plantings.  “We will plant daffodil bulbs in the next couple of weeks,” Reba said.  “Then in January, we will plant the loropetalum bushes.”   The loropetalum will be allowed to fill out so that their blooms will be showcased to their fullest potential.  What a splash that will make against the bright yellows of daffodils as a welcome to drivers coming through Albertville.  Thank you ladies for your hard work!

Look for future updates to come on this exciting project as the plants become established and fill the area with foliage and seasonal colors.
